Jesus has Left the Building – Book & Podcast

I wrote a book several years ago. It was published in 2006 and it’s still available through Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/Jesus-Left-Building-Paul-Vieira/dp/0971804087. When my book came out I officially left organized religion. The book was a kind of “farewell message” explaining why I had come to this point in my journey. I think the book still reflects how I feel about things, although my language has changed and my worldview has shifted a little.

Back when the book was released, I recorded myself reading the first 10 chapters. You can access them through iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/jesus-has-left-the-building/id267983946

If you do check it out, let me know how it goes.

Peace,

Paul

My brother in Winnipeg (formerly with Vineyard church there) lent me his copy and I got about half-way through when I thought “Who IS this Vieira dude, from WINNIPEG (Steinbach’s my hometown), with the cool kids, and this thought-provoking book?” so I looked you up online, but most of your blog posts weren’t really recent till I came to this page and it said “posted 9 hours ago”. Wooo …

Anyway, I am challenged by your book. Are you into Myers-Briggs personality stuff? My theory (probably not totally original) is that most of the SPs have got bored and left the church already, the NTs are just holding in their scientific skepticism, the NFs (like me) keep hanging on, waiting for something meaningful to emerge, while the rest (who make up a majority of many churches) are SJs, staying out of a sense of tradition/duty. Time for us all to break free, I say …

    Paul,

Dude, I am re-reading your book again. I love just as much this time as I did back in 2008 when I first read it. It’s still a breath of fresh air. I was wondering where you have been. We so need someone like you in this world searching, questioning and exploring what life with Jesus in the real world looks like.

If possible I would love to interview you via Skype. The interview would be posted at eightM.com.

Let me know, and thanks for all you have done!

    Steve
